Install Google Cloud CLI

sudo snap install google-cloud-cli --classic

Installs the google-cloud-cli snap package which includes gcloud, gsutil, and bq. The --classic flag grants the package full system access, which it needs to manage cloud resources and read local config files.

After install, run gcloud init to authenticate and select your project..

Optimize Download Speed

gcloud config set storage/process_count 32
gcloud config set storage/thread_count 16

Increases parallel workers and threads for faster transfers, useful when downloading many files to NVMe-backed storage.
